    Yeah, this is very exciting. Hopefully legislation comes out soon to help push this along.

    Looks like cars will be like smartphones, major technology updates every year or two.

    I just have a niggling thing in the back of my mind that the governments wont legislate until the major manufacturers tell them to, right now they get massive revenues from the sale of petrol and tax on vehicle sales, cant see them giving that up willingly.

    I suspect that we'll see a per-mile tax to augment the loss in fuel tax revenue. With a connected car, this metric could be automatically reported.
